Audio Art Loudspeakers Technology:
We started Audio Art Loudspeakers with a technological blank slate. We looked at each aspect of the acoustical design with the following thought in mind: What is the best way to do this?
To this end, we are using these design philosophies and technologies:
1. Fully active crossover (Premier Series)
- Lower inter-modulation distortion - lessens demands on the amplifier
- More precise crossover characteristics due to constant impedance load
- Improved transient performance
- Increased dynamic range, no wasted amplifier power, needs smaller amplification for the same volume levels
- Better control over the speaker elements, avoids passive crossover induced tweeter resonance
- Effective control over driver sensitivity differences and adjustability for different acoustic spaces
2. Wide range Jordan anodized aluminum midrange driver
- No significant response peaks or resonance when driven full range results in enhanced listen-ability
- Simplifies crossover design because of the lack of out-of-band colorations
- Covers full vocal range for seamless sound
3. True ribbon tweeter
- The aluminum ribbon weighs just a few milligrams - a fraction of the weight of a typical dome tweeter
- Neodymium magnets for high efficiency
- Nearly ideal dispersion characteristics
- Highs sound pure and sweet - no grain
4. Push/Pull stereo subwoofers
- Extend stereo image into the bass region
- High power handling from four 10" super long-throw woofers
- Push/pull design cancels even-order harmonic distortion
- Low "Q" alignment for smooth response with no boom, dose not rely on mechanical resonance to extend bass response
- Force cancelling design eliminates mechanical vibrations
- Sealed design for better driver control
- 12 decibel per octave low end roll off mates well with typical residential spaces to create smooth extended low bass
5. All sealed cabinets
- Better phase accuracy
- Smoother bass response in room
- No unwanted sound leakage through ports
- Better driver control below resonance
6. Spherical enclosures
- Strongest shape to avoid cabinet vibration
